  Mission Statement

Perkinston Elementary School's Mission and Beliefs

Our mission is to foster student achievement by realizing the value and potential of all students, and by providing an environment that is safe and conducive to learning.

  • All students can learn. Student achievement is the top priority of our school.
  • Each student is a valued individual with unique intellectual, physical, social, and emotional needs.
  • Students learn in different ways and at different rates.  Students should be provided a variety of instructional approaches to support their learning.  Clear goals and expectations should be set as a guide for learning.
  • Assessments of student learning should provide opportunities for students to demonstrate their achievement.
  • Teachers should be provided with the most up-to-date curriculum, and adequate staff development in  implementing recent curriculum trends.  The use of curriculum should address individual needs, including: remediation, enrichment, learning styles, and performances levels.
  • Our school will provide an environment that is safe, clean, and appropriate for student achievement.
  • Parent involvement directly affects student achievement.  Parents, teachers, administration, staff, and community members share in the responsibility of providing an environment that is supportive to learning. Students should be given adequate opportunities for social interaction to promote self-esteem, respect for self and others, acceptance of differences, and mannerisms.
